Rio+ Centre inaugurates new office in Rio de Janeiro.
Rio do Janeiro, 24 September 2015– The new office of the RIO+ World Sustainable Development Centre is inaugurated on September 24th, a symbolic moment which marks the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by World leaders for the next 15 years in New York.
The new office is inaugurated by Dr. Rômulo Paes de Sousa, the Director of RIO+, and Mr. Jorge Chediek, UNRC Brazil, on departure after 5 years in Brazil and to whom RIO+ team pays tribute for his leadership and commitment for sustainable development and the establishment of this Centre.
Rio do Janeiro has been a historical hub for major world sustainable development events in the last decades. The so-called Marvelous City hosted the World Summit 92 and Rio+20, which paved the way for the SDGs adopted for the next 15 years.
